Out of My Mind,Just in Time-Erykah Badu

Hey y’all, I know it’s been forever. Happy new year, merry Christmas, happy three kings day, happy Kwanzaa, happy Hanukkah, Founders Days and all. It’s been some time and I have been writing here and there. I’ve been living my life, trying to get better. Slowly but surely. Happy Valentines Day too.

I’ve written something that was inspired. I’m grateful to be able to be inspired by tender thoughts and touches. ☺️ it has no title.

Nobody saw when you fell, so you sat there and laughed for a bit

Thought about gravity’s cavities

And he smiles still

Sweet as bees slow as honey with that fall

You were:

On the floor with that time crawling

Wondering how love has become made of vertigo and places to go—together

You are a good thing to fall over

You are something I stub my toe on and smirk after wincing

Hoping everyday my kisses make a pothole out of you

The big ones you avoid on your way to wherever you’re going on my mind next

You say they’re bad for your tires

Like I used to be bad for someone’s tires

A spike in the rubber

Full of song, prose and flubbed lines

That blubber and blurt

And display their gravitas on air filled things

I was bad for someone’s tires once

I was bad for someone’s knees once too

Thanks y’all ☺️ be blessed
