Everybody Loves the Sunshine- Roy Ayers Ubiquity

Hey y’all,

Happy Friday! If you’re like me and this quarantine is starting to blend your days together I would like you to know that it is Friday, the official start of spring was Monday, and April is next week. Now that’s out the way, I hope you are having this period of time be one of rest and hopefully not too much worrying. I’ve been daydreaming, drinking good wine, and listening to stillness and the days. Whether I hear sounds of the streets or neighbors or nature, I’ve just been trying to be as chill as I can and appreciate the days. I wrote this when I was laying in the sun two days ago.
My chart recently said I should be more open to experiences and people. And give them a chance to impress me. So we’ll see what that means.

I open my windows n let his scent in/ it jumps on my furniture like a black cat/ riddled in superstitions about letting people come back through the doors they left// I don’t tell them to make themselves at home/ I don’t tell him I miss him when he says it/ it’s my way of making his scent feel like guests/ letting him know they should call first/ because I live different now//
