Hey y’all,

How are y’all doing forreal? It’s a crazy time right now so I hope y’all are able to keep peace in your heart and actions since everything has shut down. I hope that whatever you need to do to keep light and hope in your mind throughout these days comes easily to you. Because things are getting so real, there can be a war for your mind and emotions. Between the news, social media, staying inside, having financial insecurities, and feeling apathetic I pray for every one of y’all to develop a resistance to the things that bring you down and keep you from being okay in these times. I pray that everything will become okay for you, no matter what you’re worried about.

i haven’t been writing too much but I’ve been enjoying time to myself. I’m annoyed that it’s literally free time…as in, time I’m not getting paid for 🙄 but Im grateful to even be spending this time doing what I want and not in despair. So I appreciate the time I’m taking to just breathe and reconnect with earth and self. I hope you all seek to do the same. I wrote this recently watching the sun come up. My sleep schedule is a wild card at this point.

Sunrise as a Lover

Do you see the sun riding up on the clouds? 

Like that chariot my momma sing about.

Ain’t it selfish n vain the way it snatches the wind; and says fan me,  blow breeze through my rays...

Don’t it make love throughout the day?

Visiting lovers skin, wrinkling around their eyes, smiling in their shoulders, cupped like champagne, the sun leaves before you can call it a cab. Insisting there’s a party across town n they’ll call tomorrow, the wind whistles after them, admiring as it goes.
